WRITE THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMISSION

It’s important for the ITC to understand the American public’s concern for farmers. A phosphate import tax is a tax on farmers, plain and simple. Farmers have recently been subjected to enough economic distress as a result of needless trade wars and the global pandemic. Join us in saying NO to Farm Taxes by sending a letter to the ITC.

What to say:

  • Artificially increasing the cost of phosphorous in the United States would directly affect the cost of one of America’s most important fertilizers. A tax on phosphate imports is a tax on American farmers, plain and simple.

  • America’s agriculture industry has been severely affected by trade wars and the global pandemic. The industry is already expected to perform far below expectations for 2020. A Farm Tax would simply add to the existing challenges of surviving as a farmer in America.

  • The push for a phosphate import tax is a power grab by Mosaic Company, which already has a commanding grasp on domestic phosphorous production. Corporate interests must not take precedence over the livelihood of blue-collar Americans.
